This September, Avant Theatre celebrates the glory of the Mahabharatha, one of the greatest Indian epics to have ever graced civilisation, through our inaugral Moksha Festival. A festival catering to pre-school children, primary to tertiary level students, families, friends and literary arts and theatre lovers at large, it will be celebrated over a week from 22nd September to 27 September at the Goodman Arts Centre. Activities are presented both in English and Tamil, comprising of mainstream plays from the MOKSHA TRILOGY (our main highlight), storytelling, games, discourse, a rural bonfire of informal style and candid discussion. This production aims to serve a multitude of platforms and purposes, in that it hopes to introduce new and up-coming playwrights, directors and actors into the local theatre scene and create the next generation of performance makers.
