Druv Kent is the 1st Asia-based musician to be supported in 15 years by BBC Radio 2 of the UK, arguably the world’s premier radio station for contemporary music. A 2015 entrant to the international music scene, Druv’s music has already received popular and critical acclaim in Singapore, Australia, India and the UK, across radio, TV and social media. Druv’s music got the attention of some of the world’s best record producers in 2014 who have worked with John Mayer, Ronan Keating, and Mel C. (Spice Girls), and these producers have produced Druv’s debut album titled “About Time”.
And the story of Druv’s musical journey itself is almost as engaging as his music!
Druv grew up in Asia. Learning Indian classical music at a young age, yet leaning towards Pink Floyd and Dire Straits, Druv was never short of musical inspiration. Druv attended B-school in the US and then returned to Asia to build a successful banking career in HK and Singapore. That was until 2013; Druv then started writing his own songs and risked it all to pursue his passion for music.
In the last 2 years, Druv attracted the attention of a team of world-famous music producers, created an album of world-class music with them (“About Time”) and has created a serious international following.
Druv has played live across a range of venues in Singapore, most notably at the Gardens By The Bay and the Esplanade Recital Studio. He has spent time in the UK, including doing radio promotion shows across England and two live performances in London. He spent Christmas 2015 doing his first gig in India at the exclusive Taj Mahal hotel in New Delhi.
Druv Kent Live on Mar 19, 2016 at Victoria Theater will be Druv Kent performing with his 6-piece band a range of his own music as well as some classic, familiar songs that will keep you fully entertained. In addition, Druv has also been instrumental in organizing a Battle of the Bands among young and aspiring musicians in Singapore. The two winners of this competition will also be featured at the Mar 19, 2016 Druv Kent Live show. All this at Singapore’s historic Victoria Theater – an iconic venue for all music lovers.
